Mark Clodi (born March 30th, 1969) is the author of many zombie and science fiction novels and short stories. At an early age Mark was hooked on fantasy and the pulp fiction of the 'Golden Age of Science Fiction'. While moving around the mid-west with his parents he continued to feed his frenzied reading by buying fiction at yard sales and utilizing the local libraries. The thought of actually becoming a writer struck him at an early age, but he never followed through on his dream until he was much older and 'settled in' to a career as a computer programmer. His writing started one day while trading emails back and forth with Mike Keleman, the co-author of his first book. They started assigning chapter numbers to the emails and the rest, as they say, is history.
He lives in a small town in Iowa in the United States with his wife, two daughters, two dogs, two cats and two hermit crabs. On any given Saturday night no matter what the temperature, so long as it is not raining or snowing, you can find him on the rough 'man-deck' behind his house grilling ribs, reading and listening to the radio by the light of a kerosene lantern and a tiki torch.
I don't regard myself as a very strong writer yet. The purpose of the website is to garner feedback on how I can get better. This feedback really does help keep me writing. The first book was a lark between me and a friend who thought I could do it, after I posted it up here and got a few comments it gave me more incentive to keep writing, to keep getting better. The books I have finsihed are all available here for free or for a small fee from Lulu or Amazon. Right now I need to keep my day job, but the end goal is to be able to make a living from writing, even if is just ends up being a supplement to my retirement income.
I like to write in coffee shops, but I have written everywhere from my bed to Ross Lake Resort in Washington state to a crowded bowling alley while my kids threw gutter balls. By far my favorite spot right now to write is an Amici coffee shop in West Des Moines, just off of Ashworth road.
This website is in a constant state of flux, I've come to the conclusion it always will be.
I have purposely designed this site to be very, very lightweight, mostly it is just html or server side created html (via php), it should work in most browsers reasonably well. I have ran it through the ringer in chrome, IE and firefox and usually test it out when there is a new version of any of those browsers. The website is best viewed in screen resolutions of at least 800 by 600, it is better viewed at higher resolutions. The site works in the latest versions of IE, Firefox and Chrome, other browsers will probably work just fine, however, as this is a personal web page I am not checking compatibility with every available browser/platform. That being said, the site is mostly text, how can your browser mess up text? Oh yeah, css, right...
You can keep up with me on Facebook. Anyway I am a sporadic user of social media at best and Facebook is more of a family/friends set up, not a corporate author (i.e.-professional) set up to sell anything.
